Event Details
At times, clinicians and placing agents struggle to engage youth who have experienced upsetting events. Often, youth feel “talked out” and tired of relaying the details of their most distressing moments to yet another person. Artistic and expressive methods can prove beneficial with traumatized youth in residential placement. Color therapy, symbols, artistic methods, and yoga/stress-reduction techniques can assist in rapport development. Creative Interventions will provide you with examples as to how artistic methods can reveal much about a child’s experience while at the same time providing an outlet for emotions.
