The YOC Residential Treatment Programs incorporate individualized treatment programs, an on-grounds accredited school, recreation facilities, support buildings, and nature areas.  The YOC works with youth, ages 6-18, with complex and diverse clinical and behavioral challenges through a multi-dimensional team approach using empirically supported practices. These practices include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) strategies as core elements of the daily milieu. In addition to standard residential services, the YOC offers enhanced programming:

  • Parental participation emphasis (transportation services, gas cards, parent education, family fun nights, etc.)
  • Vocational skills training (building trades, culinary arts, ServSafe, etc.)
  • Wellness activities (intramural sports, exercise classes, running club, weight lifting, Zumba, dance, boy/girl scouts, art groups, on campus spiritual services, etc.)
  • Community integration (volunteering, community service projects, participation in community activities, collaboration with Ball State University programs/depts., etc.)
  • Skill building services (individual training on coping strategies)
