STEP (SYSTEMATIC TRAINING FOR EFFECTIVE PARENTING)

The Youth Opportunity Center (YOC) will be offering a free Parenting Education Course to the community. The YOC utilizes the STEP (Systematic Training for Effective Parenting) curriculum. This 9-week psycho-educational group course provides a structured curriculum for parents with real-life issues for at-risk youth and families. The course provides a practical approach to help parents grow and develop their youth into strong, positive, cooperative and independent young adults. The course also helps parents work toward building better and stronger relationships with their children. Every parent will receive a workbook free of charge. The STEP course is led by YOC Psychology Doctoral Interns and overseen by Dr. Gisselle McKell-Jeffers, PhD., HSPP and YOC Psychological Services.

CLASS DATES AND TIME:

Classes are held Wednesday Evenings, 6:00-8:00 PM, at the YOC

Dates: September 4, 11, 18, 25, October 2, 9, 16, 23 & 30

Enter through entrance #1 and check-in with the evening receptionist at the main building.
