The Youth Opportunity Center, Inc., exists to help troubled children and their families. We seek to teach socially acceptable behavior, instill emotional stability, and guide the reunification of families. In addition, we aim to protect the child, the family, and the community from negative life events.

Our goal is to assist families in breaking the cycle of dependency in the child welfare and juvenile justice system by relieving future legal and financial interventions. Ultimately, we want to be recognized as an outstanding residential treatment facility, offering a full range of flexible services that effectively assists our clients to meet their changing needs.

We achieve our mission through an organized group of caring, drug-free staff members who have been thoroughly screened and trained. 

The YOC accepts staff and interns who exhibit professionalism, enthusiasm and a willingness to develop and grow within an organizational culture. Child Care Specialist

We are ALWAYS accepting applications for part-time Child Care Specialists to work directly with at-risk youth in a residential treatment setting.   Applicants for this position must be available to work exclusively 2nd shift (2p-11p) OR 3rd shift (10:30p-6:30a) with some weekend availability; have a high school diploma or GED; and a valid driver’s license.  Experience in criminal justice, psychology, social work, childcare, education and any human services related field preferred. Part-time positions without a college degree start at $8.00/hr.

Successful candidates for ANY POSITION must be 21 years of age or older; pass a pre-employment drug-screen and a complete criminal history background check, which includes information from the FBI, Department of Child Services (DCS), Child Protective Services (CPS), and the National Sex Offender registry.

Once hired, you must attend and pass ALL Core training sessions, which are PAID,  that will take place over a  (2) two-week period on Monday-Friday from 8:00A-5:00P.
