Do you provide Independent Living services?
Yes.  The YOC has staff dedicated to providing independent living services to older adolescents on campus. IL services include individual and group instruction on a variety of life skills topics. Back to top

What is your average length of stay?
Although completion of a program depends on the client’s progress, the average length of stay in a YOC program is 5.2 months. As a child progresses through treatment, this will become clearer to the family and child. Back to top

What is the age range of youth you service?
The YOC is licensed to provide treatment for juveniles 6-18 years of age and this age varies based on program.Back to top

Will Medicaid cover placement?
No.  Youth placed on the YOC campus will be paid for through the state of Indiana.  Back to top

Will Medicaid cover the cost of diagnostic testing?
No.  The cost of diagnostic testing is an additional fee.  Back to top

How long does diagnostic testing take?
Diagnostic Evaluations will vary according to the testing being completed on the client.  The average testing time frame is between 4-6 weeks.  Back to top

What is the difference between a full battery and a baseline diagnostic?
They both include a clinical psychosocial history, personality and behavioral testing, observations and substance abuse screenings.  The full battery, however, includes a psychoeducational evaluation to identify intellectual and academic status. Back to top

Does the juvenile have to remain in placement for the entire diagnostic process?
No.  YOC can complete diagnostic evaluations on an inpatient or outpatient basis and varies with each case. The YOC attempts to work with the placing agents, family and courts on the timeline. Back to top

Do you provide transportation?
Yes. The YOC believes that family involvement is important and we will assist families with transportation as needed .We can assist with transportation to our campus for admission, court, and visitation as needed. Back to top

What school system do residents attend?
Residents living at the YOC will be enrolled in the Muncie Community Schools programs. The YOC provides on-grounds educational opportunities or youth may attend public school within the community. Additionally, we work with students to complete HSE if this is needed on campus and through local community resources. Back to top

How can I obtain school records once my child has been released from the YOC?
