The Youth Opportunity Center, Inc., exists to help troubled children and their families. We seek to teach socially acceptable behavior, instill emotional stability, and guide the reunification of families. In addition, we aim to protect the child, the family, and the community from negative life events.

Our goal is to assist families in breaking the cycle of dependency in the child welfare and juvenile justice system by relieving future legal and financial interventions. Ultimately, we want to be recognized as an outstanding residential treatment facility, offering a full range of flexible services that effectively assists our clients to meet their changing needs.

Child Care Specialist :

The Youth Opportunity Center is accepting applications for Child Care Specialists. Applicants must be 21 years of age or older, and must have a high school diploma or GED. A valid driver's license is also required. Child care experience or completion of some college courses desired. Applicants must be available to work any of three shifts with an occasional weekend. Wage program provides opportunity to increase at a rapid pace in early years of employment.

Counselor:

A master's degree or pursuant of such degree with significant progress, in psychology, counseling, or social work from an accredited school. The counselor holds ultimate responsibility for the completion of the residents treatment plan, which is completed in conjunction with the Cottage Manager and the direct care staff. The counselor will collaborate with these individuals in the completion of the treatment plan integrating information obtained from diagnostic testing, the treatment team, placing agent and family. The counselor will assure the implementation of the treatment plan by the treatment team and monitor the appropriateness of the treatment plan through subsequent quarterly reviews. <more>
